ABSENT

If you are absent from school, there are several things that you should do when you return.

  • The morning that you return to school you should go to the ATTENDANCE OFFICE to get a Re-Admit Slip. You should have a note from your parents, or they can call the school (545-1633), explaining the reason for your absence. Unexcused absences may result in detention or T.A.S.K.
  • Give your Re-Admit slip to all your teachers as you go from class to class throughout the day.
  • Ask your teachers what assignments you missed while you were absent. You have 2 days for every day you are absent to complete any work you have missed. After the 2 days have passed your work will be considered late, and your teachers may either accept it late or not accept it at all. Check out the District approved Homework Policy for other guidelines.
  • If you know you are going to be absent from school for any reason, your parents should call the Attendance Office to inform the school. If you are going to be absent for several days, you may be eligible for an Independant Study Contract or Homework Assignment Request. Contact the Attendance Office for details.
