GENERAL LEAGUE RULES:

6th graders will play on 6th grade teams, 7th graders will play on 7th grade teams, 8th graders will play on 8th grade teams.
There are only a few exceptions to this rule: 1) Lower grade students are allowed to play up if there are not sufficient numbers to have the upper grade team. (i.e. only five 8th graders come out for 8th grade volleyball when at least six players are needed) 2) The 6th graders can be allowed to play on the 7th grade team if a 6th grade team does not exist (This is a school decision to allow this to occur)  3) Single teams that have all grades (or schools can choose to have only 7th and 8th graders) and no cuts.  (i.e. football, wrestling, cross country)  4) Softball: a 6th or 7th grade pitcher or catcher can play on the 8th grade team if there are no alternatives available.

A player who has played on the 7th grade team as a 6th grader, will play on the same team/grade level as a 7th grader. The 7th grader will not be moved up to the 8th grade team unless one of the above exceptions apply.
