PARENTS' CLUB
PURPOSE: The SMS Parents' Club seeks to support, supplement, and enhance the education of all SMS students.

Sponsor the Staff Recognition Luncheon
Publish the Parents' Club Newsletter
Purchase an advertisement in the Cat's Tale Yearbook
Sponsor Open House/Country Faire
Sponsor Dinner Nights
We SUPPLEMENT the educational process at SMS!
Assist in the purchase of student planners, sports uniforms, computer and technology needs.
Provide scholarships for the 6th grade outdoor education experience
Assist with school fundraisers to provide quality assemblies & activities
Provide help in the classrooms
We ENHANCE the school environment!
Sponsor the Penny Drive competition between grade levels
Provide parents to help sell dance and sports admission tickets.
Provide supplies to the Student Store

August - Presales of P.E. Clothes, Spirit items, yearbook September/October - Back to School Night, Penny Drive, Fall Schoolwide Fundraiser, Parent/Advisor Conferences, Dinner night, Volleyball-Football-Soccer games, dances. November/December - Christmas Teacher Luncheon, Charm Bracelet Fundraiser, Girls Basketball games, dances January/February - Food n Fun Night, Parent/Advisor Conferences, Boys Basketball games, Wrestling meets March/April - Spring Schoolwide Fundraiser, Wrestling, Track & Field, Dances May/June - Open House/Country Faire, Staff Recognition luncheon, Class competition reward trip, Graduation Activities. Monthly/Ongoing Events - Parents' Club Meetings, Student Store supervision, Ink Cartridge recycling program, clothes closet maintenance.
Parents are important and necessary in order for the team to be complete! You are the first and most important teacher your child will ever know. It is a tremendous responsibility, but as a team working together, we will be successful. Parents are encouraged to become members of the PARENTS' CLUB. Meetings are held monthly and we encourage you to attend as many meetings as possible. JOIN THE CLUB $5.00

Most meetings are held in the school library the fourth Tuesday of each month at 5:45 p.m.
We have many programs and activities that need parent volunteers, if everyone gave just one hour of their time, we would have all the help we need.
