Eligibility Requirements & UNSAT List Eligibility requirements have been established for student participation in extracurricular activities such as after school sports, school clubs, music clubs, cheerleading, colorguard, student council, dances, assemblies, field trips, and other special events. This eligibility is based, in part, upon grades and citizenship marks of the prior trimester and remains in effect for the entire grading period. Students who DO NOT meet eligibility requirements are placed on the UNSAT LIST. 8th GRADE STUDENTS ON THE UNSAT LIST WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE IN GRADUATION CEREMONIES, GRADUATION DANCE, OR 8TH GRADE TRIP. Eligibility requirements are as follows: On any trimester report card students: 1. must maintain at least a "C" average (2.0 GPA) with no more than one (1) "F" grade. 2. must not have more than one (1) unsatisfactory citizenship "U" mark. UNSAT (INELIGIBILITY) LIST: A student is ineligible and on the unsat list during the current grading period if he/she:
Students who have failed to remediate “F” grades, have not participated in Academic Study Hall during the current grading period or who have made no attempt to remediate “F” grades during the previous grading period (either through After School Academic programs or Winter/Spring Break or Summer School) are ineligible to petition off the Unsat list. HOW TO GET OFF THE UNSAT LIST 1. After 4 weeks into the new grading period, students may petition off the UNSAT List. The student may request a petition from the principal and if the student has acceptable grades and citizenship (see above), they will be granted PROBATION and will be taken off the UNSAT List. Students may petition no more than twice per trimester. 2. If a student is on the UNSAT List for suspensions, they will be removed nine (9) weeks after the day of the last suspension if there have been no more suspensions during that time. 3. If the student has school debts, they will be removed from the UNSAT List when the debts have been paid. |
