Youth Wrestling Guide This is a great guide to youth wrestling!!

We will attend several tournaments in the area:


 

Wildcat Classic Wrestling Tournament

Dear Parents & Volunteers,
We will be hosting the 6th Annual Wildcat Classic Wrestling Tournament at SMS on MARCH 21st from approximately 6 am to 6 pm.  This provides our wrestlers one last opportunity to show what they have learned as a wrestler.  As most of you know, it takes many people to put on a good tournament experience for everyone.  Here’s where you can help, we need several volunteers to run our tournament.  The more volunteers we have, the easier it is for everyone and easier to watch your wrestler when it his or her turn.  Some of the roles can be done by students and siblings. Please return the bottom of this form indicating which role(s) you would be willing to play in our tournament. Thank you.

Locker Rooms:  Our Locker room will be use for all the teams to store their bags and equipment during the tournament, so that the stuff is not in the stands.  We need a couple of people to control the access to these room so that no unauthorized people are in there and that when wrestlers do go in there to get their stuff, they are monitored.

Bracket updates:  We will need a couple of people to update the bracket sheets throughout the day, so that wrestlers know who they face next.

Announcer/Announcer’s helper: I need one person with a strong voice to call wrestlers up to the staging area for their brackets/weights.  The person will also make periodic announcements throughout the day.  The helper will be there to help the announcer out.

Staging/Mat assignments: These (1-2) people will send wrestlers to the mats to wrestle.  We have a clipboard system that works very well for this purpose.

Head Table:  I need at least 3 people to help run the head table. Recording match results, moving wrestlers in the brackets, writing up new bout sheets, etc.

Weigh-ins: I will need 2 male adults and 1 female adult to help with weigh-ins of wrestlers from 6-7 am.

Security:  3 people needed Keeping people off the mats and in the stands, making sure people(kids) are not  fooling around in the bathrooms, etc.

Scorers Tables: We need 3 people at each score table.  We have 3 tables. One as the timer, one to record the match scores, etc. and one to flip the scorecards and surpervise the operations at the table.  We will also need a couple of people to provide relief.

Runners:  I will need a couple of people to act as runners for whatever needs to be run for. 

Admission:  We will run our admission table from 7am – 1 pm.  We will need 2-3 people to run the table from 7-9:30 and then 1-2 until 1pm. 

50/50 raffle:  We will need a couple of people to sell tickets at a table and throughout the tournament for the 50/50 raffle.  Mrs. Hardenbrook will be in charge.  Raffle will be at 12:30 or the conclusion of the second round whichever comes first.

Bus Zone:  We will need some people in the morning to keep cars from parking in the bus zone from 6-9 am.

Concessions: We need lots of help running our concessions.  We will have the student store open and will be selling sports drinks, water, soda,  sandwiches, pizza, nachos, candy chips, hot dogs

BBQ:  We will need 3-4 personal BBQ’s and the folks to run them.  If you would be willing to bring your gas bbq and/or run it for lunch or just run a bbq for lunch for an hour or two, that would be great.

Please give whatever you can.

I am sure I’m forgetting some duties somewhere, but if you are willing to do ANYTHING, write that down too.
